Opera mini features

Features
Opera Mini lets you have the full Web everywhere. The new Opera Mini 4.2 is even faster with more than 30% speed improvements for users in the United States and there are noticeable speed improvements for all other users. This latest version adds support for skins selections to personalize the look and feel of the browser. Opera Link was also improved and now offers support for notes, allowing users to sync their notes between the PC and Opera Mini.

Skins
Personalize Opera Mini by choosing a new colorful skin. We have reintroduced the popular skinning feature from Opera Mini 3.
Performance
Opera Mini 4.2 can use our newly established server park in the US. This means significantly faster page downloads for our users in the Americas and Asia-Pacific region. Users in the rest of the world will also experience faster page downloads since we’ve reduced the load on our other servers.
Video
We are working to make video content available on more phones through Opera Mini. If you have a new Sony Ericsson or Nokia phone, the chance is high that you can take Opera Mini for a spin on m.youtube.com.

Sync Notes
The handy Notes functionality from the Opera Desktop Web browser just got more portable through Opera Link. All of your notes are available in Opera Mini directly from the Bookmarks menu.
Now even faster
Prior to this release, we upgraded our servers and Opera Mini now receives your requested Web pages up to 50% faster. So you can now access sites like Facebook, BBC, and any of your other favorite Web sites even faster, with desktop-like speeds.
Find things faster
The new Opera Mini lets you search for text within a Web page so you can get to the information you need even quicker than before.

Get to your Web sites faster
When typing Web addresses, Opera Mini will recognize and suggest completions for you based on your Bookmarks and browsing history, making address input faster, easier and much more intuitive.
Download and upload files
On phones with JSR-75, you can now upload and download files using Opera Mini, without being re-routed to your phone’s native browser. Update your blog while on the go. Upload photos to your Web site or social network. Add attachments easily to Web-based email, and download other non media-rich content to your phone using Opera Mini.
Save it for later
On phones with JSR-75, Opera Mini lets you save pages for offline viewing so you can quickly access and read your desired Web content, even when you’re on a plane, in the subway, or in other places where you can’t get network reception. Depending on your phone, you may need to choose a destination folder for storing pages for offline viewing

Sync bookmarks and Speed Dial
Opera Mini features Opera Link, which allows you to synchronize your bookmarks and Speed Dial with a computer running Opera 9.50 or other mobile device running Opera Mini.
View pages in Landscape mode
To view the Web on a wider screen, just hit * # and flip your phone to the side to enjoy browsing in Landscape mode. Change your default view to landscape by turning “Landscape mode” on inside the Settings menu.
Give your phone a mouse
Opera Mini gives your phone a virtual mouse, so you can easily scroll in any direction. Move the mouse cursor towards what you want, and then it quickly snaps your view to the link or content.

Power scrolling shortcuts
Scroll at warp speed using your phone keypad. Find your way around on the Web pages quicker by using your phone’s number keys. Press 2 to go up, 4 to go left, 6 to go right and 8 to go down. Hitting 5 zooms you in and out.
Create custom search shortcuts
Just like in Opera for your computer, you can create your own Web search from any search field on the Internet using Opera Mini. Simply click on the search field that you want to grab on a Web page and then choose “Create search” within your menu alternatives. Then you can enjoy making frequent searches without having to type in the site link again.
Tools and support for Web designers
We support Web designers who want to make their Web sites look even better to those browsing with Opera Mini. In Opera Mini, we have included all of the CSS support that Web designers need to make their Web pages look pixel perfect on in the mobile Web world.

Full Web in your palm
When visiting a Web page, Opera Mini displays the overview of the page and suggests where to begin your reading.
Built for speed
Opera Mini is built for speed. Web pages are compressed by up to 90% of its original size for speed, saving your time & money.

Worldwide email to phone

Send Email to Phone
SMS is a great way to get email messages on your phone. Most carriers have "SMS gateways" which take email messages from the Internet and deliver them to their customers' cell phones as SMS text messages.

TeleFlip
Teleflip is an easy way to send email to any phone. Just address it to [10-digit phone number]@teleflip.com. Also this service allows to get emails and choose where you get emails from.

GismoSMS
GismoSMS provides service to send free messages to any mobile phone. Note receiver may incur charges depending on their carrier and plan.

Google Mobile

Google Send to Phone for Firefox

Pikamo
Pikamo allow send free messages online. Peekamo messages arrive with your Peekamo ID. When your recipients reply to you message Peekamo forwards it to you.

TxtDrop
TxtDrop enables users in the United States and Canada to send text messages with instant delivery.

SMS Gateways
The trick is that you need to know what carrier the recipient's phone is on. It's not enough to know their phone number.

That's why, the carrier determines what email address of the receiving phone is going to be. For example, Cingular phones' address are all "number@cingularme.com" while Verizon phones are "number@vtext.com."

All you need to do is find your carrier in the list below, and then use the pattern shown there to figure out your email address. If you want to send email to a friend's phone, just ask them which carrier he uses.

Phone to Pc browsing

The internet browsing on computer is achieved with the aid of some software specially designed for that purpose. Many of these software are proxy tunnelers such as freedom, proxyway, hopster, hummingbird, freegate, go-trusted, hide-proxy etc. which are capable of hiding your proxy address from your network service provider. They are also these other ones that are just free web browsers which you can configure just the same way you configure your mobile phone default browser. E. g. is opera browser. The problem with these ones is that they seem to be restricted to only the sites the mobile phone default browser can access.
So the proxy tunnelers are the better ones but the best among them are those ones that not only hide your proxy address but programmed in such a way that they have foreign servers located in foreign countries and are capable of distributing internet connection to any application installed in the computer that requires it internet connection. E. g. Web browsers and chat/messengers. Since these software have been designed to browse the internet free of charge any where in the world, we get them and configure them in such a way that they will allow us access in our computers free of charge.
I will be given you new and excellent software that is very much reliable, fast and supports file download of any size. With it, you can discover how fun it is to browse the internet free of charge with much ease and at incredible speed. Use your yahoo messengers, msn messengers with a click.

REQUIREMENTS:

1) A GPRS enabled mobile phone that has either a Bluetooth connectivity or USB cable connectivity.

2) ZAIN or MTN simcard

3) PC suite of your phone.

4) The new free internet software and its settings.

HOW TO MAKE IT HAPPEN:
Step 1:
Insert the simcard of either mtn or zain networks into your phone. Transfer any credit inside it out. Then make sure that the sim card is GPRS activated. MTN subscribers have nothing to do with this but for ZAIN subscribers go to hxxp: dmc. ng. zain. com and activate your GPRS instantly.

Step 2:
Install the PC suite for your phone for your computer. If you don’t have it, you can download it from your phones manufacturer’s website. For example, nokia users can download the latest version of nokia pc suite from hxxp: nokia. com. Then configure the pc suit as follows

Access point: ---------- web. gprs. mtnnigeria. net for MTN or wap. ng. zain. com for
ZAIN
Username: ------------ web for MTN or wap for ZAIN.
Password: ------------- web for MTN or wap for ZAIN.

Step 3:
Connect your phone to the computer either through a USB cable or Bluetooth with the aid of the pc suite. Just allow the pc suite to recognize your phone and click on connect to internet. If not connected, don’t worry, I’m gonna provide you an e-manual with the detailed step by step method with screen shots.

Step 4:
Install the free internet software (I will provide you the software and the settings). After the installation, configure it with the settings following the instructions from the e-manual that carries both the settings and the guide with screen shots for proper guidance.

When you have completed these simple steps, just begin to surf the net with ease and at great speed. Your messengers all bubbling. It’s all fun!!! This works absolutely fine for both MTN and ZAIN networks.

This configuration is working perfectly using ZT321, Baizhao 8928 and IPhone Clone A380 and probably will work using other China Phones.

If your SIM card is previously activated using other phones specially those phones supported by Globe and Smart, no need to activate your SIM. This is also valid for postpaid users since SIM cards are pre-activated for MMS, GPRS and other services.

But if your SIM is not yet activated or never been used for MMS and GPRS, you need to activate your SIM before you can use MMS and GPRS services.

For Smart SIM, you can use your China Phones to activate MMS and GPRS by simply sending/texting MMS ON / GPRS ON to 333 (I dont know if this number is still valid). No need to download the configuration for Smart. Just use the configuration Ive given.

For Globe SIM, this is a little bit harder and need some workaround. I tried to call Globe Customer Service but they cannot activate your SIM manually on their system and the only way to activate it is by downloading the configuration thru text or by asking them to send the configuration. But since China Phones are not yet supported by any Service Provider, what you can do is to active MMS and GPRS using another phone. Monitor until your SIM is activated then transfer your SIM in your China Phone and enjoy surfing and sending MMS.
